Spring is finally here! Even here in Southern California, where we’ve had a cold and rainy winter, it couldn’t come soon enough! When I think of spring, I think of sunshine and flowers and fresh things to eat and drink, so I was excited to try out these yummy green juices from HUROM! The juices are fruity and delicious, and as someone who sometimes has trouble eating enough veggies, they have the added bonus of getting that serving of greens.
Basil Pineapple
I love basil and will eat it in or with just about anything, and I think its sweet, almost-licorice taste goes so well with fruit. It’s also good for you, acting as an anti-inflammatory and natural stress-reducer. Paired with grapes, spinach and pineapple, this juice is full of vitamin C, iron and glucose to keep you feeling fresh and energized throughout the day and to help you fight those nasty spring colds! The taste of the basil and pineapple are both subtle and comes out almost as an aftertaste to the grape, but it completely covers the taste of the spinach, if you’re someone like me who prefers to pretend it’s not there.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup white grapes
- 1/8 cup spinach
- 2 tablespoons basil
- 1 cup pineapple
Instructions:
- Remove peel and core of the pineapple. Slice into appropriate sizes.
- Wash white grapes, basil and spinach thoroughly.
- Place lever on “close” and extract ingredients, alternating insertion.
- Once the last of the ingredients is extracted, place lever on “half-open” and allow pulp to be expelled.

Apple Kiwi Spinach
This was my favorite of the three green juices. I would have never considered combining apple and kiwi before, though in hindsight, it seems to make perfect sense! It’s refreshing and sweet, almost like candy, and kind of feels like you’re cheating somehow. There’s no way this is good for you! But between the potassium from the kiwi, which helps prevent high blood pressure, and the natural fibers in the kiwi and apple to keep your digestive system happy, you’re getting the best of both worlds: something tasty and enjoyable as well as something that you don’t have to feel guilty about!
Ingredients:
- 1 3/4 cup apple
- 1/8 cup spinach
- 1/4 cup kiwi
Instructions:
- Peel the kiwi and slice into appropriate sizes.
- Remove the seeds from the apple and slice.
- Wash spinach leaves thoroughly and slice.
- Put lever on “close.” First extract about half of the prepared apple, then insert spinach and kiwi.
- Finish inserting the rest of the apple and put liver to “half-open” position. Allow pulp to be expelled from drum.

Apple Celery
While none of the juices were difficult to make, this was certainly the easiest, as it only requires two ingredients! While this tastes mostly like apples, the celery juice waters the apple juice down a bit, in a very pleasant way, making the consistency more like apple-flavored water. It’s really thirst-quenching. The carotene from the celery and the vitamin C from the apple help boost your metabolism and strengthen your immune system, so you’ll be ready to get outside and enjoy the springtime!
