Pipcorn is the new go-to popcorn. It is delicious, vegan, gluten free, non-GMO, whole grain and mini! If you’re wondering why somebody would want smaller popcorn, it is simply because mini means crunchier, lighter and you don’t feel as bad about indulging.
I received Pipcorn samples in three flavors: truffle, sea salt and kettle. The first thing I noticed was the packaging, of course. The bags the mini snacks came in were huge and felt like some kind of recycled material — a good first impression. Advertised on the bag is a picture of the “actual” size of the kernels and it definitely matches.
The first flavor I tried was the sea salt because I wanted a typical, salty popcorn taste. After I popped the first Pipcorn in my mouth, my taste buds had erased the taste of microwaved popcorn and made room for the taste of Pipcorn. It was generously salty and slightly buttery without all the oil that normal butter-flavored popcorn leaves on your fingers. I loved it.
The truffle were plain without a distinct flavor, but that does not necessarily mean they were bad. Some people prefer a blander taste, so this flavor would work for them.
If you like anything savory and sweet, go with the kettle. My brother and I ate the whole bag in one day. They were definitely my favorite and I’ve been craving for more ever since. This is the flavor all popcorn should taste like.
I say ditch the “movie-theater” popcorn and sit back and snack with Pipcorn. A couple more things to keep in mind about Pipcorn:
- Pipcorn has 3 times the amount of popcorn per bag than ordinary popcorn
- When the tiny kernels are popped in mini pieces, they leave fewer hulls stuck in your teeth
- Each batch is seasoned by hand
- They are popped in 100% olive oil
- Pipcorn uses real ingredients and real people are making it (a brother and sister team)
To purchase, you can buy them on Amazon, Pipsnacks or hit your local Target store.
